Megaupload pretty much blows...

If you're going to use any of the file upload services, do the world a favor, and don't use Magaupload...

Random Thoughts, and New LP Jacket Templates...

My, it's been a long time since the last update. I know Wally is working hard on getting the next "Phat Vegan" recipe ready, and perhaps if we're lucky, Brandon will bless us with a story about his recent trip to Japan. Me? I can tell you about my new Mark Gonzales adidas shoes if you want.

Anyway, I just updated the templates for LP jackets. There was a very slight change in the standard LP jacket, so best to use this new template when setting up your files.

You can download the new LP jacket template pack here.

If you have any questions, let a brother know.

Hope you're Monday is good.

Love,
Brad

May Already?

Hard to believe it's May already...

A lot is happening over here at Imprint, and we're busier than ever working on some really cool projects for really good folk. Thanks so much!

LP jackets are hot hot hot right now. We have some great deals on LP jackets, so don't be afraid to head over and check out our pricing...

In other news, I just got 2 extra GB of RAM in my computer, so now I'm rocking 4 gb's and loving it. Doubling my RAM really helped pep up my machine.

Just saw Iron Man last night. I recommend it. Good fun.

Also, Brandon, Bryan and I have already picked up copies of GTA IV (for Xbox) and are really enjoying the game thus far. It's a huge game, and there's a lot to do and see... I haven't tried out the online play yet, but Brandon and Bryan have, and they had good things to say about it.

Oh yeah, we got a USB record player in the house now, and Walt ripped some of my old vinyl for me. Slovenly and Treacherous Jaywalkers... Great old SST/New Alliance Records bands... Nice to have those tunes on my iPod now for some quality listening time.

That's about it. Hope you're doing well.

Love,
Brad

'12 Business Days of Baby, It's Cold Outside', update...

After about 10 business days, things are getting really tense. This song is getting on our last nerve. Brandon threw his BioShock figure across the office the other day... I think it was day 8, I broke my Mighty Mouse when the scroll ball stopped scrolling... Needless to say, we have to rethink this next year...

In other news, the Imprint XChristmasX Party is this Friday night... We're going to be doing some fine dining, and Rock Band rocking... We're keeping it low key... Hopefully someone will have a camera on hand to snap some photos of the Imprint Rock Band "The IPR Forms"...

Minor Web Site Update!

iloveimprint.com was recently given a slight overhaul.

New icons on the front page direct you to various destinations, depending on what you click. Interested in LP jackets? Click the LP jacket icon and be directed to information regarding LP jacket and insert pricing, upgrades, etc.

CD replication? Click on the CD replication icon and choose your poison: bulk discs, jewel case packaging, Digipak® packaging, and so on...

I think you get the picture...

Also, updated along with these new icons, is some new, lower prices! Go ahead, click through the site, and see what's new!

Full Color CD Labels Upgraded to Offset Printing... FREE!

Starting immediately all full color (CMYK) CD labels will upgraded to offset printing at no additional charge! That's FREE!

Offset printing offers the best possible quality for CD labels. In terms of numbers, offset printing is 175 lines per inch (vs. 85-135 lines per inch for silkscreen)... What does this mean? Well, the more lines per inch, the better (smoother & clearer) the printing looks! Sounds good to me.

We are also going direct to plate on our CD labels now, so that means even better quality than film to plate output (1 less generation). I think the new CD labels look amazing, and I'm confident you're going to agree!

You don't have to do anything to receive the free upgrade to offset printing... Simply place an order with a full color CD label, and the disc will be offset printed... It's that easy!

Placing an order with Imprint in 3 easy steps...

Placing an order can sometimes be a confusing experience. The interweb can be a scary place, full of dark corners, strange terminology, and porn... Don't let that get you down! Placing an order with us doesn't have to be a harrowing experience... Just follow these easy steps, and you'll be well on your way to having your completed CDs, LPs, posters, etc. in your hands!

Step One:
Fill out an order form on our website.
http://www.iloveimprint.com/order.htm

Simple enough. Don't lose sleep over the specifics. Your artwork tells the final story of what it is you're ordering. Make sure you include billing and shipping addresses, email info, and phone info. Also, don't forget to include the quantity of what you're ordering! We receive a lot of orders with no quantity info. This is one of the most important parts of the form!

Step Two:
After you've completed (and submitted!) an order form, you'll be given an order number. Zip up all of your art files and name the zip file with your order number (so that we can easily identify and associate the two). From there, all you have to do is upload the art to us. There are numerous options outlined on our FTP section of our site. Check it out!
http://www.iloveimprint.com/ftp.htm

Step Three:
Regarding the artwork, you'll want to set your art up using our templates, as it will save us time in getting you a proof (as well as the overall turn around time for your project!). The templates can be found here...
http://www.iloveimprint.com/templates.htm
After we've received your artwork, you will receive emailed digital proofs within 1 business day. Peruse the proofs, make sure everything is in order, and respond to that email with approval.

Once we've received approval of your proofs, we will be in touch regarding setting up payment, as well as giving you an estimated ship date for your order.

That's it!

I'd also recommend skimming over the FAQ section of our site, as there's quite a bit of useful information regarding the production process.
http://www.iloveimprint.com/faq.htm

I hope this is of some help. As always, we're here if you have any questions, so drop us a line if you get confused... Pick up the phone and call, whatever works... we're happy to help!

New 7 Inch Jacket Sizes

Starting today, all of Imprint's 7 inch jackets are 14.5" x 7.25" (folders, pockets, and gatefolds).

The previous size of our jackets was 14.25" x 7.125". We've had numerous requests to increase the size, and are happy to announce we've finally made the transition. The new die is in and templates have been updated. You can download the new templates here.

If you have any questions about our new templates, please drop me a line.

Also, if you haven't already read on our emailed update, we will soon be offering polybags with our 7 inch jackets. We're really happy about this offering, since it will make things a lot easier for people ordering jackets to get covers and bags from the same place! Keep an eye out for pricing and availability!

Obligatory Second Post

So, after a little work, the blog seems to be in working order now. I placed a link on the index of our site, so that's how you can access the blog. I'm sure you'll all be dying to see what we write next, I know I am...

That said, I'll take this time to thank everyone for the great work over the past 13 years... We've had a great time, and things are only getting better!

Thanks!

Obligatory First Post

Greetings... Brad from prepress here. Welcome to our first blog post. After years of contemplating a blog, we finally decided to hop on the blog-wagon, and start one of our own..

We have a lot of great things on tap here at Imprint, and we were so excited about them, we decided to finally get this thing going!

Unfortunately we're not announcing these things just yet... You'll just have to wait a bit longer... ;-)

For now, you get to know that I'm working on updating our templates (no small feat)... So, if that isn't exciting news, I'm not sure what is...

Oh yeah, here's a photo of the geeks at Imprint taken recently for Verbicide Magazine.
